With solar and wind power leading the way in the energy mix, Chile projects its potential in Hyvolution 2026, the scenario where clean generation connects with the transport and storage solutions of the future.
The National Energy Commission (CNE) released its Monthly Report on Non-Conventional Renewable Energy (NCRE) for April 2026, revealing figures that confirm the leading role and progress of the clean energy sector in the country’s energy mix.
According to the report, as of the end of March, the country had 196 NCRE projects under construction. These initiatives, totaling 4,866 MW of installed capacity, are scheduled to begin operations in June 2027.
Currently, non-conventional renewable technologies already represent 52% of the country’s net installed capacity, reaching a volume of 19,331 MW. Approximately 99.8% of this capacity is already connected to the National Electric System (SEN).
The report details that the integration of these clean energy sources is fundamental to the country’s daily operations. In March 2026 alone, renewable energy plants injected 3,479 GWh into the grid, equivalent to 47% of the total generation for that month.
The breakdown by technology type demonstrates the dominance of solar and wind power in the national energy transition:
- Solar Energy: Led generation with 2,299 GWh.
- Wind Energy: Contributed 986 GWh.
- Run-to-river mini-hydro plants: Contributed 177 GWh.
- Biomass and Geothermal: Added 125 GWh and 8 GWh, respectively.
The sector’s dynamism is also reflected in the constant influx of new projects. During the month of March, the Environmental Assessment Service (SEA) accepted five new renewable energy projects for review (four solar photovoltaic and one wind), which together are projected to add 217 MW with an estimated investment of US$441 million.
Likewise, the system granted three favorable Environmental Qualification Resolutions (RCA) for one solar and two wind projects, corresponding to initiatives that will inject 313 MW, representing an approximate capital investment of US$351 million.
Hyvolution 2026: Where Energy is Transformed
While the CNE report shows us how energy is generated, the Hyvolution trade show emerges as the ideal platform for companies to connect with the storage and transmission technologies that will shape the next decade.
