With a decade of technological accumulation and a broad portfolio of products for green hydrogen generation and zero-emission mobility, the company seeks to establish strategic alliances with public and private actors in the Chilean and Latin American energy sector, sharing its proven industrial solutions to accelerate the hydrogen economy in the region.
Founded in August 2022 in the Lingang Free Trade Zone, Shanghai, Wenjing Energy is a nationally recognized high-tech enterprise, classified as an innovative SME specializing in new technologies in Shanghai. Its technological development is supported by the Fuel Cell Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, with which it maintains a joint research center. Wenjing Energy also participates in drafting groups for numerous national and industry standards related to fuel cells and electrolyzers.
The company’s R&D team comprises senior engineers, including professors and PhDs, with extensive experience in large-scale automotive manufacturing. Its researchers have led more than ten scientific projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission, registering over twenty patents and publishing more than twenty articles and academic works on hydrogen technology. This research ecosystem allows the company to maintain a closed-loop system of innovation, development, and commercial transformation of technological results.
Wenjing Energy focuses its activity on two complementary strategic pillars: the production of green hydrogen through water electrolysis and fuel cell propulsion solutions for a wide range of mobility scenarios. Its electrolyzer line includes PEM models with generation capacities from 0.75 to 250 Nm³/h and AEM electrolyzers from 0.75 to 50 Nm³/h, adapting to small, medium, and large-scale renewable hydrogen projects. For hydrogen applications, it develops air-cooled fuel cells from 0.3 to 20 kW for two-wheelers and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as water-cooled fuel cells and systems from 10 to 300 kW for trucks, buses, and light commercial vehicles. All its equipment combines high operational reliability and cost-effectiveness, tailored to the specific demands of each market.
With the goal of achieving mass industrialization of hydrogen and consolidating a comprehensive value chain network, the company established a joint venture in Shuozhou, Shanxi Province, in 2025: Shuozhou Wenjing Energy Technology Co., Ltd., the first high-tech enterprise located in Shuozhou’s Jinchuang Valley Industrial Park. There, it built the first domestic production line in northern China capable of manufacturing 500 high-power fuel cell engines annually, filling an industrial gap in the region. Its 165 kW engine is notable for its high power density, long lifespan, and low operating costs, making it suitable for 49-ton heavy-duty trucks with a range of up to 500 kilometers; each vehicle equipped with this system reduces carbon emissions by 170 tons per year. Furthermore, the company is collaborating with the Shuozhou city bus group to operate the province’s first demonstration line of hydrogen buses. These buses maintain a range of over 400 kilometers even in extreme cold conditions of -25°C, demonstrating the commercial viability of hydrogen mobility in cold climates.
By 2025, Wenjing Energy has closed its Pre-A funding round with investments from renowned entities such as Shen Venture Capital, Hillhouse Capital, and local funds from Kunshan, which will drive its national and international geographic expansion. It currently has three strategic industrial hubs: the eastern hub in Shanghai (research center) and Kunshan (manufacturing plant), the northern hub in Shuozhou (development and production of power systems), and the central hub in Wuhan, focused on low-power applications. This territorial structure allows it to cover all stages of research, manufacturing, and commissioning of hydrogen projects throughout China.
Wenjing Energy’s decision to participate in Hyvolution Chile 2026 reflects its commitment to the Latin American market, a region with abundant renewable resources and a clear agenda for energy transition and decarbonization. During the three days of the trade show, the company will be present at booth #209, a 9 m² space with a single side open to the public, where it will showcase its full range of electrolyzers and fuel cell systems, as well as successful commercial mobility projects implemented in China. Wenjing Energy professionals will hold B2B meetings with renewable energy generation companies, heavy transport operators, public institutions, and investment groups, exploring opportunities for technology transfer, equipment distribution, and joint development of green hydrogen projects in Chile and neighboring countries.
For Wenjing Energy, Hyvolution Chile represents a key platform for showcasing its mature technologies and establishing lasting relationships with key players in the local energy sector. The company reaffirms its mission to become a leading global provider of comprehensive hydrogen chain solutions, collaborating with economies worldwide to achieve carbon neutrality goals and advance a sustainable, accessible, and scalable energy transformation.
