Eliseo Salazar is a more than authoritative voice to talk about everything to do with motorsport. In fact, he is recognised as the only driver from our country who has participated in the demanding Formula 1 and his enormous trajectory in motorsport has made him, without a doubt, the best Chilean driver of all time. In this condition, is that the famous ex-sportsman has set his eyes on electromobility and has participated in various projects related to the subject. In fact, this Tuesday he will participate in an activity invited by Hyvolution Chile – the most important exhibition on green hydrogen in the country – linked to both worlds: the Inauguration Ceremony of the H2 Grand Prix Chile 2024, an international science and engineering training programme for high school students, which provides hands-on experience in the design, engineering and racing of remotely controlled vehicles powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. “I have been working for zero-emission mobility in Chile for more than a decade now. We brought Formula E to Chile, which is not only relevant for the decontamination of cities, but also for the virtuous circle that the use of lithium and copper in such technologies implies for each country,” Salazar explains about his interest. “In this way we will not only export raw materials, but ideally we will also add the added value that will result from the training of our young people,” adds the ex-pilot. This year there will be more than 10 participating teams, who will compete in the Chilean final that will take place at Hyvolution Chile 2024 on 3, 4 and 5 September at the Centro de Eventos Metropolitan Santiago. “And now to complete the virtuous even more, we have the power of green hydrogen. And what better than with Hyvolution to bring together hydrogen and education, with schools learning from experience what these technologies mean,” says Eliseo Salazar.
