Santiago, September 3 – With the presence of the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, various authorities and the most relevant actors in the industry, the second version of Hyvolution Chile, the leading international fair and congress on green hydrogen in Latin America, began its inaugural ceremony, which gathered more than 300 people.
In the instance, the President referred to the opportunity that renewable hydrogen (H2R) has in the present, emphasizing that it is an industry that will bring environmental and economic benefits for the country and that “generates a productive chain that is very virtuous”.
“We are talking about an ecosystem that goes beyond business. This is an industry that has an underlying sense that is very valuable, where we are playing to accelerate the decarbonization of our planet to become carbon neutral by 2050, as Chile has committed by law, in what is perhaps the most important challenge of our generation”, said the head of state.
In this line, he stressed that the green hydrogen industry must move forward with a sense of urgency and invited to “dream big”, considering the high value that this industry can generate in the territories where it is located.
The president of the Chilean Hydrogen Association, H2 Chile, Rebeca Poleo, emphasized that H2R responds to the triple planetary crisis: pollution, climate change and loss of biodiversity and that, in this line, it is part of the country’s strategic triad: copper, lithium and H2R.
Poleo also referred to the progress of the industry in Chile, with 74 projects, of which 9 are operating on a pilot scale and 6 are undergoing environmental evaluation. She also valued the government’s measures to promote the deployment of the sector.
In particular, the union leader emphasized the importance of Social Legitimacy for the industry. “Dialogue and contrast of visions are prioritized, having as axes the delivery of information, transparency and scientific evidence”, she said.
Organized by Fisa of the GL events group and H2 Chile, Hyvolution Chile will have an exhibition area in which more than 95 companies will present their latest innovations in energy and solutions related to renewable hydrogen.
“The purpose of Hyvolution is to bring together the entire value chain of the sector to promote its development, from production to different uses. We bring together supply and demand to gain in competitiveness and competence, as well as authorities, regulators, legislators, investors, operators and suppliers to reach the agreements that the planet is asking so much of us today,” said Francisco Sotomayor, CEO of GL events.
The fair, congress and business networking for the green hydrogen sector, will have an extensive program of activities with the participation of large companies, industry suppliers, unions, universities, startups and key public-private institutions that are part of the ecosystem and its value chain.
“We bring this year a fair in line with what the green hydrogen industry of our country seeks and needs: to enhance its development and achieve greater competitive dynamism in the market, giving it greater leadership worldwide,” added Sotomayor.

President Gabriel Boric also visited the facilities of the H2 Grand Prix, the hydrogen-powered model car competition organized by the SOFOFA Educational Corporation and held within the framework of the fair. This race will have more than 15 teams made up of students from different educational establishments, and the winners will represent Chile in the world final in California, United States.
