Chile’s potential in the global race for clean energy has a roadmap and immediate objectives. With this conviction, Energy Minister Ximena Rincón will assume the honorary presidency of Hyvolution Chile 2026, the leading green hydrogen and clean energy trade fair, which will take place from September 1st to 3rd at the Metropolitan Santiago Convention Center. The Minister will lead this key initiative to consolidate the national strategy regarding new energy vectors, at a time when the climate emergency and local economic development demand seamless collaboration between private capital and public policy. All of this is further complicated by the urgent need to find alternatives to the fossil fuel crisis.
For the head of the Energy Ministry, the country’s geography and resources represent an unparalleled competitive advantage that must be translated into tangible realities as soon as possible. “Our country has exceptional conditions to advance in green hydrogen, clean energy, and sustainable mobility”, she stated. “The challenge is to transform that potential into concrete projects, with collaboration, innovation, and a long-term vision”, says Ximena Rincón, pointing precisely to the core of the current debate: how to expedite permits, attract stable investments, and deploy the necessary infrastructure so that the territory’s comparative advantages can be transformed into a consolidated industry.
According to Minister Rincón, isolated efforts are insufficient when it comes to changing a nation’s production matrix. Based on this premise, she anticipates that “Hyvolution Chile will be a meeting point for industry, the public sector, academia—all those driving the energy transition”.
This vision is shared by the event organizers. Carola Fuentes, General Manager of FISA, emphasizes the institutional significance of this milestone: “Minister Rincón’s presence as honorary president, in addition to honoring the event itself, reaffirms the State’s commitment to an energy transition that requires maximum convergence and clear leadership to bring together all the actors in the ecosystem”.
Activities and Congress
This ecosystem will have its space for technical and strategic debate at the Hyvolution 2026 Congress, an event that this year will be chaired by former minister Vivianne Blanlot. The current director of Colbún has been responsible for outlining and defining the topics to be addressed, developing a program focused on the main challenges of the energy transition.
Thus, during the first day, discussions will concentrate on the government’s vision for resuming economic growth through strategic investments, global energy security, and the strategies of industry associations to accelerate capital flows in Chile. In the following days, the analysis will broaden to include the complexities of securing buyers in the international market, the role of the ports of tomorrow through green maritime corridors, and the impact of alternative fuels such as e-methanol and green ammonia. The closing session of the congress will focus directly on the essential regulatory challenges for unlocking projects on a commercial scale, financing, and the latest advances in energy research and development.
Hyvolution 2026 will also feature a prominent focus on education, applied technology, and the next generation of professionals. One of the main attractions of this edition will be the Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP), a vibrant competition of scale model cars powered by green hydrogen, bringing together teams of students from across the country. This science and technology tournament promises to fill the Metropolitan Santiago racetrack with excitement through demanding endurance races and technical skills related to the energies of the future.
