Yesterday, June 1, the last Public Account of President Gabriel Boric took place, a ceremony in which he highlighted the progress made by his government before the National Congress. In a speech lasting more than two and a half hours, the President spoke about health, education, transport and energy.
‘We are working so that all of Chile has better access to energy, with better infrastructure and stability of supply,’ Boric said, referring to the country’s leadership in the development and implementation of renewable energy. ‘These are concrete changes that change the lives of communities for the better.’
To boost the green hydrogen industry, he continued, ‘we are developing an action plan to 2030, making progress in creating the necessary infrastructure for the industry to function and in training workers in this new sector.’ He added that innovation and technology are key tools for building a more inclusive and competitive future.
This announcement is one of several made by various government representatives in recent months.During Chile Day in New York, the Finance Minister referred to the decision to present a bill on tax incentives to encourage the development of green hydrogen, including access to tax credits for investment, and encouraging use and demand.
The president’s remarks are also in line with the latest news on green hydrogen in the country, particularly with regard to TotalEnergies’ investment in a mega green hydrogen project in the Magallanes region.
