Supporting the planet’s decarbonization in response to the urgent challenges of climate change is the vision driving HIF Global’s advancements in e-fuel production.
The company developed the world’s first demonstration plant in the Magallanes Region, Haru Oni, which can be visited virtually during the 2024 Hyvolution event. Through virtual reality headsets, visitors can tour the plant and learn how low-carbon e-fuels are produced using the strong winds of Patagonia and cutting-edge technology.
Additionally, the company will participate in a panel discussion where it will share details about its work on generating synthetic fuels. These fuels are produced from green hydrogen and recycled CO2, being chemically equivalent to fossil fuels without requiring changes to existing engines and infrastructure.
The global benefit of this e-fuel is its versatility, as it can be used in cars, planes, and ships. This solution is already a reality today and is being used in the Porsche Mobile Supercup, a race held in support of the Formula 1 World Championship, where cars are running for the first time on e-fuels produced in Magallanes.
Currently, HIF Global is developing projects in the United States (Texas), Australia (Tasmania), and Uruguay (Paysandú), and has a plant and wind farm undergoing environmental evaluation in Chile (Magallanes).
